Against the backdrop of the "dual carbon" goals, my country's exhaust gas treatment technology has made significant progress. Recently, a Tianjin environmental protection technology company successfully developed a new generation of "high-activity coated three-way catalytic converter cores," which boast a 40% increase in precious metal utilization of platinum, palladium, and rhodium, enabling efficient conversion of harmful gases even during low-temperature startup.
This core utilizes a nano-scale honeycomb ceramic substrate and a novel coating sintering process, achieving a light-off temperature as low as 200°C and a combined conversion efficiency of over 95% for carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx), far exceeding the requirements of the China VIb emission standard.
Experts point out that "during the 'window period' of transition from fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles, high-efficiency three-way catalytic converters remain a key line of defense for emission reduction." This product has been certified by the National Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection Center and will be mass-produced on a number of mainstream domestic brand models.
